Righteousness it's what's for dinner

Matthew 5:6
"How blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness! for they will be filled.

The bible makes it very clear that those who seek to be in right standing with God will be satisfied.  But this satisfaction will only come through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  He is the only one who completely satisfies our need to be right with God (Isaiah 53:10-11).  Jesus is the only way to come to know The Father and embrace eternal life (John 14:6, John 3:16).   And we firmly believe the God we serve is the one and only true God (John 17:3).  And it is through Jesus Christ that we are made righteous with God (Romans 5:17)

This is important to know because many will try and fill their need to be right with God by seeking after false God’s (Allah, Buddha, Reason, Selfish Desires, etc.) or denying the existence of God Himself (Atheism and followers of Reason).  Those false religions or idols that people use in an attempt to satisfy the need to be right with God will only lead them to destruction.  God views these poor faiths and worthless idols as unrighteous and ungodly.  Because they choose not to follow Jesus the wrath of God is against them (Romans 1:18).  Those who deny God’s existence proclaim that there is no proof of His existence so they see no need to be at peace with God because He is not real.  God’s response is simple, creation is the very proof of His existence and there is no excuse for unbelief (Romans 1:19-20).  People such as the ones mentioned above deny God by worshiping a false idol/god and do not give Him the honor and thanks He is due, so their hearts are  vacant of the light of Christ (Romans 1:21, John 8:12).    These people are walking in darkness and cannot expect to receive eternal life.  They exchange the truth of God for a lie and worship something or someone that offers no true hope. Sadly they believe in their hearts that following worldly wisdom and ungodly truth will lead them to righteousness but this is a lie, this kind of thinking comes from the devil (Romans 1:22, John 8:44 ).

To follow after Jesus choice we all must make.  The Lord will not pressure us to follow Him because He freely lets us choose between life and death.  He does however encourage us to choose life and follow Him but He also warns us if we deiced to reject Him we will meet a destructive end (Deuteronomy 30:11-20).  Those who chose to follow after false gods and idols will dive deeper into sin and it will be evident by the fruits of their lifestyle produces (Romans 1:26-31).  Those who choose to accept and follow Jesus bare the fruit of that choice as well (Galatians 5:16-26).

So we live our lives as an example of what it is to be a peace with God and believe in Jesus Christ.  We encourage others to know Jesus and let them know God loves them.  We do this by speaking the truth of the Gospel to a world bound by lies.  We love those who are lost and we let them know that God does not want anyone to perish (2 Peter 3:9).  But we let them know rejecting Jesus will lead them to Hell.  We are not trying to scare anyone into believing or create false emotion, instead we are feeding their need for truth with the Bread of Life and satisfying their thirst for peace with God by offering them Living Water (John 6:22-40, John 4:10-14)

Stay focused, you can do this!

In His JOY!
