Loving you

What reward is their in loving those who look like you, talk like you, and think like you. It makes more sense that you will love those who love you and hate those who hate you. We tend to act as if being a Good Christian has limits. We will be there for our the ones we love at a moments notice but we will only show concern for our enemies when there is some benefit involved. When there is no benefit we clamor at the thought of helping them. We scuff at the idea of helping our enemy but wait for the day to make "our haters" our footstool. This is not what God wants or desires for us. He calls us to act graciously, loving, and wants us to willing give without the promise of reward. We are willing to pray for our enemies because it requires no true sacrifice. But are you willing to care for your enemy after they have burned all their bridges with you? Are you willing to let them live you if they lost their house to foreclosure? Are you willing to pay their bills, knowing they will not pay back, if God ask you to? Are you willing to show love the way God ask you or are you limited in your capacity to love like sinners are? Our enemies may burn all the bridges we built between us. But they cannot burn the Bridge of God's Mercy and Grace.  Stay focused, you can do this.
